TIPS FOR MANIFESTATION

The New Year is here and with that comes 2018 resolutions! Below are some tips on how you can turn your goals into reality.

  1. Write down your goals on a sheet of paper that you can keep in a safe place.
  2. Set a date for when you want to accomplish each goal. It’s best to focus on 1-2 at a time.
  3. Create positive affirmations for each goal and repeat them 3-5x every morning/night. Ex. “I will travel to and host my first yoga retreat by the fall of this year.”
  4. Look into how you can make each goal happen and write down the steps to make them happen.
  5. TAKE ACTION with these steps to make your goals happen!

Goals will always be goals unless you plan and take action steps to manifest them into your reality!

Both Big Toe Pose

Ubhaya Padangusthasana

This pose is commonly seen in the Ashtanga series. It involves core balance and open hamstrings!

Alignment Principles

  • Start in Plow pose position with arms extended overhead with fingers around big toes
  • Using momentum and a push off your toes, exhale to rock yourself up into the pose
  • Inhale to lengthen the spine and draw the shoulders back
  • Exhale to settle into your drishti gaze

 

Prep. Poses:

  • Navasana (Boat Pose)
  • Padangusthasana (Hand to Toe Pose)
  • Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Fold)

 

Modifications/Variations:

  • Use a strap around the feet if not yet open enough to hook big toes
  • Start in Navasana with bent knees, spine long, and then work at extending the legs with control
  • Rock up from Plow pose to bent-kneed position first (instead of going right into straight legs). Pulling the heels to the seat with help shift the weight up
  • Take it a step further with Urdhva Mukha Paschimottanasana!
