The Seat of the Soul

THE SEAT OF THE SOUL

Kiana Ng Yoga

So everyone has heard of the chakras, more specifically, the main 7 that run from the base of your spine to the crown of the head. But have you heard of the high-heart chakra? The chakra that is said to be the seat of your soul?

I hadn’t either until I took my yoga teacher training over 2 years ago and it was mentioned briefly. At the time, I hadn’t thought it existed at all since there was no proof or self-experience relating to any such thing and I definitely didn’t give it much thought either… Until this past December.

I was in a yoga class, practicing, being present and working through my own blockages like I always do on my mat when the colour pink showed up in my mind’s eye and I felt a strong connection to the place between my heart and throat chakra. Now, I knew it was the high-heart chakra immediately because back in my teacher training a couple of years ago, the colour that was described for it was light pink, like rose quartz, and there was no doubt in my mind that that was what I was experiencing a connection to, and when my intuition is telling me something, I know I’m supposed to listen and trust in the information I’m getting.

Now let me tell you a few things about this chakra…

  • It’s associated with the Thymus
  • It’s a centre of divine love and compassion
  • Facilitates deeper inner growth and transformation
  • Egoless
  • Those with an open higher heart chakra often pursue healing work

So, the purpose of this story is to remind you that just because you haven’t experienced something firsthand, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist!

With love,
