What is Body To Soul Flow?

Body To Soul Flow is Kiana Ng’s signature yoga class designed to help you empower your body, mind, and soul to grow your physical and spiritual practice. This flow-based practice was created for passionate yogis who are motivated by challenging and creative asanas, and appreciate detailed, alignment-focused instruction mixed with introspection.

The Pillars

Each Body To Soul Flow class consists of five pillars that have been chosen based on Kiana’s top teaching techniques that she’s found to result in the most amount of growth for her students.

Intentional Sequencing

Each sequence in a Body To Soul Flow class has a purpose and an intention behind it. Body To Soul Flow classes will incorporate multiple thoughtful, creative, and challenging sequences that’ll keep you on your toes and push you to explore your body in new ways.

Self-Practice

Kiana believes that the best learning comes from your own self-practice. In each Body To Soul Flow class, you’ll be given an opportunity to free flow to your own guidance, the beat of the music, or to Kiana’s lead.

Peak Pose

Each Body To Soul Flow class is structured around a different peak pose that Kiana will anatomically and methodically break down in an accessible way for you to practice. Kiana will move you through multiple sequences designed to build you up to the peak pose and then she’ll take the time to educate you on this pose so that you can practice it more knowledgeably, safely, and correctly every time you hit your mat.

Hand-Balancing

One of Kiana’s deepest passions is handstand, along with other inversions and arm-balancing postures. In order to learn these types of postures, repetition is important. You can expect at least one opportunity in every Body To Soul Flow class to turn yourself upside down or play with balancing on your hands in a way that’s safe and appropriate for your level.

Meditation

Yoga is more than just the physical practice. Kiana believes that the physical practice is a pathway into deeper levels of self-growth and self-empowerment. To further prompt self-inquiry, you’ll end each practice with a short meditation.

The Levels

Level 1: Foundation

This level is focused on the basics, forming a strong foundation for your practice, and building up to fundamental poses, including beginner arm balancing postures and preparatory drills for inversions, that will help set you up for levels 2 & 3.

Level 2: Expansion

This level is focused on expanding your asana toolbox and body awareness with deeper variations of your fundamental poses, intermediate arm balances, and the opportunity to take flight in your inversions.

Level 3: Transition

This level is focused on elevating your practice with challenging transitions and postures where you’ll explore new ways to enter, exit, and connect arm balances, inversions, and other advanced asanas.
