Must Have Yoga Mats

Kiana Ng

Finding the perfect yoga mat for your practice can be hard. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of my favourite yoga mats, including their level of grip, price, and thickness.

Liforme

This mat is my favourite yoga mat. Not only is its level of grip amazing, both in hot and non-hot rooms, but it has alignment lines on the mat as well to help you in your practice.

It comes in different colours and different styles, so you can choose your preference.

Although it’s on the pricier side, it’s well worth it!

Cost: $175 CAD (regular yoga mat)

Thickness: 4.2 mm (regular yoga mat)

Grip Level: Slippery – Medium – Excellent Grip

B Yoga

I know that I said Liforme is my favourite, but the B mat has to be tied. I haven’t experienced another mat with their type of material yet. The grip is excellent in hot and non-hot rooms and it comes in different colours and different thicknesses, so you can choose your preference.

Cost: $82 CAD (everyday mat)

Thickness: 4 mm (everyday mat)

Grip Level: Slippery – Medium – Excellent Grip

Always x Always

I LOVE this mat’s design. That’s probably my favourite part about it. Plus, the sweatier you get, the more grip you get with this mat having a built in towel on top.

Cost: $125 CAD

Thickness: 5.08 mm

Grip Level: Slippery – Medium – Excellent Grip

The Samadhi Initiative

This is my favourite cork-styled yoga mat that I’ve tried. The great thing about this brand is that you can personalize what you’d like on your mat for the design! As for grip, this mat also gets grippier the more you sweat.

Cost: $160 CAD (regular yoga mat)

Thickness: 5 mm

Grip Level: Slippery – Medium – Excellent Grip
