The Power of Choice

The Power of Choice

The Power of Choice

Kiana Ng

Here’s the one thing that we never lose control over: our power of choice.

The most common form of powerlessness that I see, and have experienced personally, is forgetting the power of choice.

In every moment, we have the power to choose; how we react and respond, between yes and no, which direction we take, what food we eat, between fear and love, kindness vs. harm… I could go on.

We seem to have forgotten that we have the power of choice, no matter our circumstances. There’s a tendency to place so much weight on our external circumstances dictating how we live our lives and how we feel while doing it.

I’ve been in that place of victim-filled energy.

I’ve been in that place of allowing others to dictate how I feel.

I’ve been in that place of looking out for answers rather than looking in.

Depending on the situation, our power of choice can carry more weight and create more effect, but even if there’s nothing that you can do about your external circumstances, you have the power to choose how you feel about them and how you live your life while experiencing them.

Where in your life can you reclaim your power & take back control of how you’re living your life?

3 Techniques to Ignite Your Inner Power

Who Am I? A Technique to Discover Your True Self

Who Am I? A Technique to Discover Your True Self

Who Am I?A Technique to Discover Your True Self

Kiana Ng

“Who Am I?” The question we all ask…

Self-identity is the one thing many of us yearn for. No one likes to feel lost & everyone likes to have a strong sense of clarity in who they are and direction in what they want. The technique below is designed to help you inquire about the truth of who you are to help you connect to your true, authentic self.

When you have an understanding of who you are, it’s a lot easier to make sound choices and decisions because you’ll know what’s good for you and what isn’t. Having a strong sense of self creates a strong sense of direction.

Who Am I? A Technique

Take a comfortable seated position with both hands resting on the area of your body that holds your true self. Notice how your hands rest on your heart or belly because you are not your mind, nor are you your body.

Take a few deep breaths. Feel the place under your hands rise and fall with every breath.

Feel yourself coming to a place of ease, of stillness, of silence.

Continue to ground deeper and deeper into your true self, with every inhale and exhale.

Start to repeat the question: “Who am I?” at the end of every inhale. And at the end of every exhale, answer with: “I am…” Fill in the blank.

Who are you when the world is quiet? Who are you underneath all of the self-limiting beliefs and labels? Who are you when you were most happiest in your life?

Continue to repeat this pattern of breath-question until you reach a still point where you feel so connected to yourself that a joy starts to spread from an inner knowing of who you are. This inner wisdom is the place that you can always come back to when you’re feeling lost and unsure. In these moments, take a few deep breaths & remind yourself of who you are.

The truth is that your true self isn’t ever too far, you’ve just got to work past the layers that have built up overtime and blocked your sight of it.

Comment below with your truth. Who are you?

Find Your Words To Live By With This List of Values

Kiana Ng

When you know your values or your words to live by, it becomes a lot easier to make choices and decisions because you know your end goal. You’re able to guide your actions by how you want to live & feel.

Below, I have a list of values. Your values determine how you want to live. When you have a clear understanding of how you want to live, you can easily make choices that reflect that.

This list was taken straight out of my 3 Techniques to Ignite Your True Power & Step Into Your Light worksheet available here.

Define Your Values

Here’s what you do:

  1. Circle all of the words that strike a chord with you, even if you don’t know why. Circle any of the words that pop out to you.
  2. Star your top 10.
  3. Highlight your top 5.

Easier said than done right? It was SO hard for me to narrow down what my top 5 values are! The great thing about this is that you can do this for every area of your life; family, friends, relationships, career, personal, etc.

Write down your values somewhere that you’ll always see them. A great way to do this is place a sticky note of your values on your mirror so that you can remind yourself every morning how you want to live your day, or you can set a reminder on your phone!

Drop a comment below and share with me what YOUR top 5 values are!

Here are my top 5 personal values or words to live by: authentic expression, connection, independence, contribution, soulful dynamics.

How To Achieve Emotional Empowerment to Live A Powerful Life

How To Achieve Emotional Empowerment to Live A Powerful Life

How To Achieve Emotional Empowerment to Live Powerfully

Kiana Ng

True empowerment starts with the connection you have to yourself. If you want to live powerfully, you’ve got to tune in.

My empowerment journey began the moment I started to tune inwards and look at the layers of myself that built up over time. My journey began when I decided to look at my unhealed traumas and unhealthy patterns. This meant working through A LOT of emotions, and it was tough. It required some real work and courage to be able to work through the places within myself that led to my disempowerment.

So here’s the first thing… If you want to live powerfully & become empowered, you have to be willing to put in the work! Believe me, I know how daunting that might seem, especially if you’re done feeling unmotivated, tired, angry, sad, and numb everyday… Especially if you’re ready right now to make a big change in your life and are tired of trying for change, but it never lasting.

Before I dive into one of the best methods to connect to yourself & work through your emotional layers, I want you to make the commitment to yourself that you are going to put in the work that it takes to heal yourself and live a powerful life, even when it gets really freaking tough.

Are you ready?

Ok, here we go…

The Emotional Scale of Empowerment

To the right, you’ll see a list of emotions from shame to enlightenment. This is also the scale that I base my coaching sessions around so that I can help you shift into higher frequencies as we work together to heal your blocks & blindspots. You can learn more here.

I’m sharing this scale with you in hopes that it will give you an understanding as to why some emotions are more challenging than others, while some just feel better. After I give you a run through of the scale, I’ll give you self inquiry prompts for you to tune in & explore the areas that need healing so you can move forward on your empowerment journey.

When looking at the scale, you’ll see that there are numbers listed beside each emotion. These numbers represent the energetic frequency of each emotion. I’m not going to get scientific today, but if you want to learn more about energetic frequencies, check out the book Power vs. Force by David Hawkins.

The emotions of shame through to pride are considered the “heavy” emotions as they all carry an energy that holds you back on some level because they operate at a lower energetic frequency. They also have a harder time building a strong awareness of the Self and can create lack of clarity for this reason.

The emotions from courage onwards are considered the “lighter” emotions because they operate at a higher energetic frequency that drives you forwards into a powerful place of healing where you can learn to make powerful, actionable, and sustainable choices. When you start to operate at courage or higher, this is where your sense of empowerment starts to grow.

We all operate at one of these levels. And you may also operate at different levels in different areas of your life. If you’re not operating at your ideal place, I want you to realize that it’s called a scale for a reason: you can move up levels!

So how do you move up levels?

Well, it all comes down to self-connection & choosing to tune inwards to look at your triggers, unhealed traumas, and unhealthy conditioned belief patterns. All of these things will specifically vary from person to person, but if you’re ready to shed light on these layers of yourself to be able to heal & release them, keep reading…

Self-Inquiry Prompts to Empowerment

With any self-inquiry work, make sure you’ve allotted alone time during this process because it’s deeply personal. When working with these prompts, you can use them as journal prompts and let your words flow, or you can do a contemplative meditation on the prompts and take note of what comes up. I recommend doing both! Do whichever prompt resonates most with you! 🙂

  • SHAME: When did I learn that who I am isn’t enough? What are my shame triggers?
  • GUILT: Where do I give myself because I feel like I need to, have to, and am expected to? When did I learn that everyone else’s needs come before mine? Who or what do I resent for continuing to take from me? Where do I feel guilty for putting my needs first?
  • APATHY: What am I scared to feel? Where am I overwhelmed or confused? Who do I blame? When was I victimized?
  • GRIEF: What loss needs to be felt? What future or should have’s, could have’s, and would have’s do I need to grieve?
  • FEAR: What is my greatest fear(s) for this situation? If I wasn’t afraid, how would things be different?
  • DESIRE: What do I want? If I could have anything in the world, what would it be?
  • ANGER: What anger is repressed? If my anger was a messenger, what would it be trying to tell me? What is my anger disguising? Who is pushing my boundaries?
  • PRIDE: What outcome am I attached to? What actions am I taking that are fear-based? Where am I lacking awareness of my ego? How are the other people involved being effected by my actions? How am I certain?
  • COURAGE: If you were an observer of your situation, what would your observations be? How can I use my courage to take action and make it happen? What would courage have me do?
  • NEUTRALITY: What am I not ready for?
  • WILLINGNESS: What am I willing to do?

As things start to come up for you, don’t hold back any emotions that come with them. Remember, you’re committed to doing the work that’s required to move forwards on your empowerment journey to live powerfully. When you hit a challenging moment or get stuck, ask yourself this: What would courage have me do in this moment?

If you’re feeling the pull for specific guidance during this process and want help moving up a level into a place of empowerment, book a call with me here and I’ll be with you every step of the way.

Techniques To Connect To Desire & What You Want Most In Your Life

Techniques To Connect To Desire & What You Want Most In Your Life

Techniques To Connect To Your Desire & What You Want Most In Your Life

Kiana Ng Yoga

WHAT DO I WANT?! Use these tips and techniques to connect to your desires & gain clarity in what it is you truly want!

Are you having trouble connecting to what it is that you truly want? There are many factors that could be blocking you from understanding what it is that you really want on a soul level. Some of these include: denial, fear, lack of connection to self, and external obstacles.

The below exercises are aimed to help you inquire within yourself to see what your soul really yearns for.

Here’s the thing though… You have to be willing and courageous enough to stay real, truthful, & honest with yourself! Today is about breaking through fears and stepping into the light. It’s about giving yourself permission to daydream!

When you’re working through these exercises, make sure you dedicate time alone with no interruptions so that you can stay connected & focused. A great way to connect to your desires is by grounding down into your body first with breath or physical movement. If you practice yoga, I have a free class available here.

Alright, let’s get started…

Techniques To Connect To Desires

  1. Meditate or journal on the following prompts: What would you do if you knew you could not fail? What would you do if you didn’t have to worry about how others would be effected? If you weren’t afraid, what would you do? What brings a smile to your face or makes you go WOW whenever you think about it?
  2. Create a vision board. This is such a great method to get your imagination and creative juices flowing! You can do this online by copy pasting pictures and words into a word document, or if you like printing out and sifting through magazines, then get a bristol board to cut and glue! The best part is that you can create multiple vision boards for each area of your life. Once completed, place it somewhere you’ll see it everyday as a reminder to keep going after what you want!
  3. The perfect day, week, month, or year. Write out what your perfect day would look AND feel like! Get specific. For example, if you’re talking about your house, get into detail about the rooms, how many levels, interior & exterior specifics, etc.
  4. Values. What are your values? Head to my post here to help you determine what your values are in any area of your life. This will give you insight on how you want to live so that you can take action to make changes where things don’t align.

OK. Start with these & get those desire feels turned UP! It’s so fun when you give yourself permission to want!

I want to hear what your deepest desire is! Drop it in the comment below!
