Bound headstand is another variation of headstand that is typically found. If you’re looking for another variation of headstand to play with, give this one a go!

Alignment Principles

  • Start in table top on your forearms
  • Place elbows right below shoulders and interlace the hands
  • Place the back of the head into your hands
  • Lift knees and walk feet in as close to you as you can while keeping the back and hamstrings long
  • Take one leg in to a tuck position, followed by the other
  • Work on straightening the legs to the sky

Prep. Poses:

  • Wide Legged Forward Fold (Prasarita Padottanasana)
  • Dolphin Pose with hands interlaced
  • Forearm plank with hands interlaced
  • Uttanasana (Standing Forward Fold)

Modifications/Variations:

  • L Headstand with legs straight, feet hip height resting on wall or chair
  • Press up in straddle or pike
