Bound Headstand

Bound headstand is another variation of headstand that is typically found. If you’re looking for another variation of headstand to play with, give this one a go!
Alignment Principles
- Start in table top on your forearms
- Place elbows right below shoulders and interlace the hands
- Place the back of the head into your hands
- Lift knees and walk feet in as close to you as you can while keeping the back and hamstrings long
- Take one leg in to a tuck position, followed by the other
- Work on straightening the legs to the sky
Prep. Poses:
- Wide Legged Forward Fold (Prasarita Padottanasana)
- Dolphin Pose with hands interlaced
- Forearm plank with hands interlaced
- Uttanasana (Standing Forward Fold)
Modifications/Variations:
- L Headstand with legs straight, feet hip height resting on wall or chair
- Press up in straddle or pike
