Alignment Principles

  • Start seated
  • Lift right leg up into baby cradle
  • Lift right knee up over the right shoulder
  • Squeeze upper arm/shoulder with right leg, release hands to on either side of left thigh Chaturanga distance apart
  • Pick up left leg and cross the ankle over the right ankle¬†
  • Exhale to press the palms down, lean forwards, and pick up hips off mat
  • Straighten the legs and squeeze upper arm with inner thighs
  • Bend elbows to Chaturanga
  • Keep both shoulders level

  • Lizard Pose (Utthan Pristhasana)
  • 4-Limbed Staff Pose (Chaturanga Dandasana)
  • Supine Twists
  • Boat Pose (Navasana)


  • Place hands on blocks
  • ADVANCED: Have the forearm down on the non-supporting arm instead of hand
