Eka Pada Uttanasana

Alignment Principles

  • Start in Uttanasana
  • Lift your right leg behind you
  • Exhale to fold your chest into the left leg as you raise the right leg as high as you can without opening the hips

Prep. Poses:

  • Pyramid Pose (Parsvottanasana)
  • Splits (Hanumanasana)
  • Warrior 3 (Virabhadrasana 3)
  • Crescent Lunge

Modifications/Variations:

  • Hold standing ankle
  • Hold lifted ankle
  • Split press to handstand
