Do you feel all wound up after a stressful work day? Try these twisting poses to unravel and unwind! Hold each pose for 5-10 breaths.

Crescent Lunge with Prayer Twist

  • Start in high or low lunge
  • Exhale hands through heart center to twist in the direction of front leg
  • Keep some pressure between palms to help deepen the twist

Half Lord of the Fishes (Ardha Matsyendrasana)

  • Keep both sit bones grounded
  • Lengthen spine on inhale
  • Twist on exhale


  • Leave one arm on top of knee, other on floor
  • Reverse bind

Pose Dedicated to the Sage Marichi 3 (Marichyasana III)

  • Inhale to lengthen spine
  • Exhale to keep spine long as you twist


  • Reverse bind

Thread The Needle

  • Start in child’s pose
  • Exhale to thread arm underneath opposite shoulder, bringing same side ear to the mat


  • Lift hips over knees (as shown in picture)
  • Reach around with extended arm to hook opposite hip crease

Jathara Parivartanasana

  • Inhale draw the knees into chest
  • Exhale drop them over to the side
  • Arms can be in cactus or T position
  • Ground through both shoulders


  • Extend legs straight
